Wife and daughters of TANA Board Director Nagendra Srinivas Kodali were killed in an accident in Waller, TX on Sunday, September 25th at Kickapoo and FM 2920. Vanisri Yalamanchili and Meghana Kodali were killed at the spot. Nikhila Kodali died at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Bellaire resident Vanisri Yalamanchili was reportedly bringing her daughter home from Texas A&M University to celebrate an Indian holiday when their car was T-boned in Waller County Sunday.
Yalamanchili, 53, and Meghana Kodali, 20, were killed on impact. The younger daughter, a 16-year-old Bellaire High School student, was take by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she died.
The family was driving home to celebrate Dasara, a major Hindu festival, according to the India Herald. The father of the girls, Nagendra Kodali, is an anesthesiologist at Texas Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine. He is also chairman of the Teluga Association of North America.
The two sisters were both skilled classical Indian dancers and held a major dance performance together in 2018.
The fatal accident happened just after 11 a.m. Sunday at Kickapoo and FM 2920. Yalamanchili was driving south on Kickapoo in Lexus when she allegedly failed to stop at a blinking red light, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.
A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east on FM 2920 struck the car at “highway speeds.”
DPS investigated the crash.
